Despite the years spent there, Brightmoon Castle was still too uncomfortably colorful for Catra during daytime. She had noticed Adora had started wearing brighter clothing to fit in better, but Catra adamantly refused to wear brighter colors, even if it meant she stood out like a sore thumb among the pastel pinks. She had worn bright clothes exactly once, and she had hated it.
The throne room. Catra pushed aside thoughts of yesterday. The queen was gone for a few days, yet that didn't stop the cooks from preparing a blasphemous amount of pastries every morning. Adora seemed to like them, and even Catra had to admit they had been a pleasant improvement from the bland rations at the Horde. Luckily, she had quickly managed to convince them to prepare at least one meat-based dish each meal, and she confidently snacked on her cracklings as Finn fed.
Adora looked around the empty room, slightly confused. "Where are they?"
"On a honeymoon trip to Mystacor, dumdum."
". . . I meant Double Trouble."
"Oh. Napping off somewhere, probably. They seemed pretty beat-up, they might need a while. Hey can you get me eggs with some of those bacon bits, thank you very- Finn!"
Her little kitten had managed to crawl to the table, and was currently climbing one of the chairs. With an amused laugh, Adora went to the buffet and started stacking dishes of food for her family.
